Kalamazoo After fighting a long illness, Jo died on Friday, April 13, 2012, in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born April 16, 1955, in Kalamazoo, MI, the daughter of Jacob A. and Sarah J. Padgett Swander and had been a lifelong area resident. Jo was a member of Temple Baptist Church and a former member of Green Meadow Bible Baptist Church. Jo was preceded in death by her father in 2006. Surviving are: her mother, Sarah Swander of Kalamazoo; her brother, Jacob Swander, Jr. of Kalamazoo; and several aunts and uncles. Family and friends will gather to remember Jo from 6-8pm on Monday at Temple Baptist Church, 3706 Mount Olivet Road, where a memorial service to honor Jo's life will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday.
