Jean Agnes (Mitchell) Henson

Jean Agnes Henson, age 82, of Kalamazoo passed away September 18, 2021. She was born May 24, 1939 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to the late Arnold and Elizabeth (Swiderson) Mitchell.

Jean was known for being generous. Over the years, she made hundreds of knitted hats and mittens for babies and children. She was also known to bring flowers, fruits, and vegetables from her garden to her neighbors. Jean worked as a bank teller at First National Bank and was always proud of balancing her drawer to the penny at the end of every day.

Jean is survived by her husband of 64 years, Allen "Al" Henson; daughter, Debbie (Rob) Pike; as well as special friends, Jack (Pam) Peckham, Don (Nancy) Wertz, and June Baker.

A memorial service will take place Friday, October 1, 2021 at 2:00pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 411 E Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49002, where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to the West Michigan Cancer Center or Heartland Hospice.
