Jacquelin L. Stringham

Jacquelin L. Stringham, age 91 of Portage, passed away on August 13, 2021. She was born July 4, 1930, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Cletus and Ethelwyn (Stahl) Sharp. Jackie grew up in Battle Creek and graduated from Kellogg Agriculture Consolidated School in 1948. On June 12, 1948, she married Harold Stringham. Together they shared 73 years of marriage and enjoyed raising their three sons. Jackie and Harold loved spending time with their family, especially at holidays, all gathered together. They were often at sporting events and school activities supporting their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Together Jackie and Harold traveled the country in their motorhome. Jackie worked for the Upjohn Company for 23 years at Brook Lodge. She served many guests over the years through the dining and housekeeping services. Jackie was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Her family includes her husband of 73 years, Harold Stringham; her children: David (Maureen) Stringham, Gary (Sharon) Stringham, and Dennis (Patricia) Stringham; her grandchildren: Michael (Amy) Stringham, Daniel Stringham, Angie (Webster) John Baptiste, Jennifer (Randy) Hyrns, and Matthew Stringham and her great-grandchildren: Emily, Sam, Maddy, D'ana, Lexie, and Grace; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Joyce (George) Robertson, JoAnne (Don) Thompson, and Beverly (Leverette) Holcomb. Friends may visit with her family on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, from 12:00 PM-1:00 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Burial & Cremation Services, 411 E. Centre Avenue, Portage. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South.
