Jackson passed away Sunday, October 21, 2013. He was born August 15, 1992 in Kalamazoo, the son of Paul and Lori Helena Peebles. Jackson was a 2011 graduate of Mattawan High School, where he was Senior Class President. Currently, he was attending Western Michigan University WMU majoring in Behavioral Psychology. At WMU, Jackson was a 2011 Medallion Scholar. He worked at WMU's Waldo Library at the reference desk. Jackson also volunteered for the National Organization for Mental Illness NAMI of Kalamazoo and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent. He was an ice hockey referee since he was 12 years old and was also an administrator/editor for the website, Wikipedia. Jackson had a great sense of humor and was a hard worker. He leaves behind his parents, Paul and Lori Peebles; two sisters, Molly Ray Lee of Ames, Iowa and April Peebles of Schoolcraft; grandmother, Patricia Peebles of Grand Rapids and also aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. A service to celebrate Jackson's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 26, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, with a luncheon to follow at the funeral home. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday starting at 10:00 AM. Private interment will be in Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Jackson's name may be directed to NAMI of Kalamazoo.
