Passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 22, 2018, age 64. Jack was born in Hastings, MI on October 4, 1953, the son of Jack Edward Taylor and Mantie Beatrice (Lilly) Taylor. He attended Spring Arbor College and Boston College, receiving a Bachelors Degree from each. He was employed as a paramedic for several years, working for Mercy Ambulance, Pride Care, Life Care and Mall City. He also worked at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, where he was an EMS instructor and worked from home as a paralegal. He enjoyed photography and spending time at the beach. He loved to travel and enjoyed many trips to Traverse City, Arizona and Florida. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Simpson-Taylor; his mother, Mantie Taylor; two brothers, Mark (Karen) Taylor, Charles (Colleen) Taylor & one sister, Trina (Jeff) Cyrus; one aunt, Elsie Hite; nieces and nephews, Christopher Taylor, Amber Cyrus (and her son, Easton), Jeffrey Cyrus, Charles J. Taylor & Nathaniel Barbosa, and Starr Long. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Taylor. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007, with Pastor Brian Lutz officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral chapel from 5 p.m. until time of the service on Wednesday.
