Kalamazoo, MI Passed away Saturday December 12, 2009 at home. Jack was born August 18, 1946 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late Gerald and Grace McKibbin Jordan. He attended St. Joseph Catholic and Portage Central Schools. In 1966 he was married to Mary DeWeerd at St. Joseph Church, Kalamazoo. Jack served in the Air Force, stationed on Okinawa and at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. They then resided in Saltillo and Tupelo, MS where Jack went into business with his father. In 1977 , they relocated to Kalamazoo. Jack was employed with NWL/Parker Hannifin for 27 years, where he developed lasting friendships. Jack enjoyed fishing, camping, and old westerns. A generous, compassionate man, his quick-witted humor was one of his most endearing qualities. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joyce Pannell. Surviving are his wife, Mary; his five sons, Tim Jordan of Plainwell, Keith Denise Jordan of Kalamazoo, Lon Rachel Jordan of Chattanooga TN, Paul Jordan of Brooklyn NY, and Steven Jordan of Bradenton FL; and seven grandchildren who were especially dear to him, Jessica Jordan, Morgan Teal, Devon Jordan, Megan Jordan, Bridget Jordan, Zoe Jordan, and Timmy Jordan. Also surviving are a brother, Tom Cherie Jordan of MS, and sisters, Sue Chuck Noble of Kalamazoo, Judy Kennene, Janice Dorsett, and Mary Riley Canterbury of MS, and many dear nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 2 o'clock Friday in Fort Custer National Cemetery with Full Military Honors, reception to follow. Cremation has taken place. The family would like all donations to be made to Dr.Littrup's Interventional Oncology Program at Karmanos Cancer Institute 4100 John R, Detroit, MI 248 351-1850, Ext. 7602.
