of Kalamazoo After a brief illness Henry went home to be with his Lord on Friday, October 7, 2011 while at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. Henry was born on July 18, 1924 in Portage Twp., MI to Henry and Christina Nederhoed Kuiper. On August 1, 1945 Henry was united in marriage to Agatha VanWalbeck, who preceded him in death on Feb. 5, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother Pearl Mohney, Adams Kuiper; a sister, Katherine Gossard; brothers-in-law, John Griffioen and Howard Santee and a son, Dennis May 24, 2010. "Hank" is survived by his sons Tom Eleanor Kuiper of Portage and Jim Kuiper of Kalamazoo SHALOM and a daughter Mary Kenneth Visscher of Zionsville, IN; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his brothers Neil Wilma Kuiper and Robert Betty Kuiper, and a sister Anna Mae Griffioen Santee, all of Portage; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Hank retired from Statler Concrete in 1986 after 36 years. After retirement he worked at Portage Public Schools and City Transfer. Hank was an active charter member of Portage Christian Reformed Church for many years before joining Texas Corners Bible Church. Hank loved people and music. He will be greatly missed for his witty comments, sense of humor and great hugs. Cremation has taken place. There will be a private graveside service in Portage South Cemetery. You may visit with family and friends at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street on Friday, October 21 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. There will be a celebration of Hanks life on Saturday, October 22nd at 2pm at West Oshtemo Baptist Church KL and Almena Ave with friend Pastor John Hill officiating.
