Kalamazoo, MI Passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, after a courageous battle with a brain illness. Born October 29, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Ted and Jennie Tinklenberg Boven. As a registered nurse, she excelled in the management of a psychiatric ward at the VA Hospital Battle Creek, MI, as well as Director of Operations of multiple senior care facilities in the Florida gulf coast region. As a successful Kalamazoo real estate agent, she was a "Top Producer" in the 1970's and 1980's. She is survived by her loving husband, F. Dale Wilkins; her children, Debra Mulder of Kalamazoo, Rebekah Slager of Battle Creek and Joseph Slager of Kalamazoo; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Ted Boven of Kalamazoo and Nelson Boven of Palm Springs, California. . Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October17, 2013 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St., where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013. Memorials may be given to SPCA of Kalamazoo or a local charity of the donor's choice.
