Harold Edwin Nieboer

NIEBOER, HAROLD E.
of Kalamazoo

Went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. Harold was born in Kalamazoo, June 30, 1926, the son of the late Jacob & Grace (Van Den Berg) Nieboer. He was formerly a member of North Park Reformed Church, a charter member of Haven Reformed Church where he had served as an elder, a deacon, a Sunday School teacher, and was currently a member of Second Christian Reformed Church. Harold was a WWII Navy Veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater on the USS Bosque. Mr. Nieboer was President of Nieboer-Rynbrand Heating/Air Conditioning until retirement in 1988. He enjoyed woodworking and golf. Harold and Fran enjoyed spending the winters in Florida.

On June 28, 1946, he married Frances M. Loher, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Linda (Richard) DeVries, David (Paula) Nieboer, and Julie (Craig) Douglass; ten grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; siblings, Donna Johncock, Nick (Ann) Nieboer, Phil (Barb) Nieboer. Will (Gert) Nieboer, Mary (Bill) Greenfield, Howard (Debbie) Nieboer; a brother-in-law Cal Miersma; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings, Jackie Nieboer, Marguerite Miersma, Esther Ring.

A service to celebrate Harold's life will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, October 15th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Immediately following services there will be a time of food and fellowship in the Langeland Reception Hall. Interment with full military honors will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
