Gloria "Boots" Zuidema

ZUIDEMA, Gloria J. "Boots" Passed away October 30, 2014 at age 82. Gloria was born September 23, 1932 in Kalamazoo to the late Gerrit and Bonnie Freida Workman Gernaat. She was united in marriage to Robert Zuidema, who preceded her in death in July of 1981. Mom loved her family and friends and was always there for anyone in need. She adored cats and gave many a loving home throughout the years. She will be dearly missed by everyone including her furry friends! Gloria is survived by her children, Douglas Ann Zuidema, Diane Jeff Dreher and Robert "Cary" Julie Zuidema; grandchildren, Andy and Tim, Ben, Nathan, Emma, Elayna and Colton; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Sue, Sandy, Celeste and Kay. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Delores Burnham; and grandchildren Jake and Samantha. A gathering to celebrate the life of 'Boots' will take place on Sunday, November 16th at 2:00 pm at the home of Diane and Jeff , 6351 Cherrywood St., Portage. Please come for drinks and snacks and to share a favorite memory. Arrangements by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gloria's name may be directed to the SPCA of Southwest Michigan or to the animal rescue shelter.
