Gloria Sue Luscomb died on Thursday, September 24, 2020, in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born on May 16, 1940, in Mason, MI a daughter of the late Verle E. and Mary E. (Hillborn) Lamphere.
Gloria retired several years ago from Kalamazoo Public Schools working in the superintendent's office. She had a wonderful knack of always having the answer that was needed. After retirement, she continued helping at the district by subbing or working in the administration building.
She lived life to the fullest enjoying her family, church, camping, traveling, gardening, and playing cards with friends.
On December 10, 1959, Gloria married Gordon L. Luscomb who survives. Also surviving are her children, Pam (Bruce) Stohrer, Kim (Chris) Corso, and Steve Luscomb; grandchildren, Dan (Holly) Stohrer, Mike (Nadia) Stohrer, Christopher (Mandy) Corso, Megan Corso, Zach Corso, and Lucas Luscomb; great-grandchildren, Dottie Stohrer, Reese Stohrer, Easton Stohrer, Emma Stohrer, and Maria Dilullo; brothers, Chris Lamphere, Mick Mygrants, Terry Mygrants, and Tim Mygrants; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation with a 10-person limit at a time in the building will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Sunday, September 27th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. The funeral home and family respectfully ask that everyone wears a mask and social distance. The family will be greeting guests outside and encourage people to visit Gloria inside and then kindly step back outside so others may enter.
Private graveside services will be held in Genesee Prairie Cemetery. A service to celebrate Gloria's life will be held on Monday, September 28th at 1:00 PM at Bethany Reformed Church, 1833 S Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49001. Rev. Dave Zommer will officiate.
