Glen A. Fevig

May 29, 1924 — February 12, 2014

FEVIG, Glen A.
Kalamazoo Died February 12, 2014 at age 89. Glen was born May 29, 1924 in Fargo, ND to the late George and Blanche Olson Fevig. He was united in marriage to Adelaine Bloomdahl on September 5, 1947, who survives. Glen served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 until honorably discharged in 1946. Glen was a faithful and loving husband to Addie and a devoted father to 6 boys. His life was characterized by giving and service, not only to his family, but also to many others. A University of Minnesota graduate, he worked as a Chemical Engineer at the Upjohn Company for over 30 years, winning the Upjohn Award and eventually rising to director of fine chemicals. He served in leadership roles at Zion Lutheran Church and Centerpoint Church. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed puttering around his workshop and land. Glen and Addie together were always reaching out to people others seemed to ignore, including a needy single parent family, an ex-convict, and an orphaned college student. Many people were helped and sometimes housed in their home, and always treated with love and respect. His strong faith in Christ was visibly expressed in his actions to his family, and everyone he met. He will be greatly missed here, but greatly welcomed in heaven! Glen is survived by his wife of 66 years, Adelaine Fevig; children, Michael Gail Fevig, David Kathy Fevig, Robert Kathy Fevig, Mark Lee Fevig, Thomas Vicki Fevig and John Pat Fevig; 16 grandchildren and spouses; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Family will greet friends from 10-11:00 Monday at Centerpoint Church, 2345 N. 10th St., Kalamazoo, 49009, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00am. A private committal will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery, North Park. Arrangements by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. In lieu of flowers memorials in Glen's name may be directed to World Vision and/or Centerpoint Church.
