Gladys Pauline (Scharping) Stanfill

Passed away Wednesday morning, August 21, 2019. Mrs. Stanfill was born January 3, 1929, in Scotts, MI to John and Mary Scharping. She worked at Parker Hannifin and lived in the Kalamazoo area for many years. On June 15, 1946, Gladys was united in marriage to Dolty W. Stanfill, a marriage that lasted nearly 64 years.

She was devoted to her family and neighborhood children and loved watching General Hospital and playing Yahtzee.

Gladys is survived by her son, Don (Jan) Stanfill, and her daughter, Donna (Len) Bierenga ; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Orie Drake; and four sisters and their spouses.

The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 3926 South 9th Street on Tuesday, August 27, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 28, at 10 AM at the Alamo Center Cemetery, with Pastor Ed Schmidt officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
