THERKILDSEN, Gene E.
of Kalamazoo Passed away November 25, 2011. He was born March 12, 1929 in Rockham, SD to the late Hans Peter and Lillie Buss Therkildsen. He was united in marriage to Frances Fornoff on December 30, 1949. Frances survives. Gene loved sports of all kinds but his favorites were the Lions and Tigers. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed hunting. He especially enjoyed being with his family and friends at his property up north. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #526. Also surviving Gene are his children Pamela Elliott of Kalamazoo, Gerry Mike Shannon of St. Joseph, MI, Dennis Linda Therkildsen of Great Mills, MD, Kay Chris Nuyen of Plainwell and Lynn Therkildsen of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Corey, Angie, Dennis, Kim, Kevin, Monica, Kristi, Steven, Jessica, Michelle, Laurel, Graham, Josh, Amanda, Tyler and John; 28 great grandchildren; brothers, Robert Myrn Therkildsen and James Pat Therkildsen; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will take place Thursday, December 1st , 1:00 o'clock at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., where family will greet friends from noon - 1:00. A private interment will take place at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park - South. Memorials in Gene's name may be directed to a charity of your choice.
