Gary Paul Jones

January 26, 1954 — February 3, 2016

Gary Paul Jones passed away peacefully on February 3, 2016. He was born on January 26, 1954, the son of Kenneth and Isabell (Seaman) Jones. Gary grew up in Allen Park, Michigan and graduated from Allen Park High School. After graduating from Eastern Michigan University, he began a career with Sibley Shoes that lasted many years, eventually managing several stores. From Florsheims to loafers to Air Jordans, Gary never lost his enthusiasm for finding you the perfect shoe. Gary loved sports and was a great supporter of all Detroit teams, the Tigers and the Lions, but especially, the Red Wings and while in Kalamazoo, the K-Wings. He also was a great fan of the Maize and Blue. His parents and his sister Brenda (Fred) Wyclowski preceded him in death. He is survived by his nephews Jamie and Jeffrey Wyklowski and several great-nephews and great-nieces. He is also survived by his former wife, Jayme Jones, his former in-laws John and Jackie Lee as well as his former mother-in-law Kathryn Cesario. Gary will also be fondly remembered by his many friends, especially Al Logan, Joe Agardy, Jon White, Mike Dewaele, Tina Marie Nichols, and Mary Lou Sedlock. Gary's family welcomes friends to attend a memorial service in his honor on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2:00pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., with a Prayer Service led by Father Robert Creagan. Please join us in remembering Gary and keeping his memory alive. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Borgess Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CI8) for their expert and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Gary's name may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
