BECK, Frederick D.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Fred passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at his home. He was born October 28, 1924 in Kalamazoo, the son of Jesse and Mary Beck. Fred was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany during World War II. On December 23, 1948, he was united in marriage to Catherine Dean. He was employed by the Brown Co. for over 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all, Fred enjoyed time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Catherine Beck; their two children, Dennis Susanne Beck of Schoolcraft and Cynthia Paul Brulé of Augusta; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, William Beck. Preceding him in death were son and daughter-in-law, Dallas and Ann Beck. Funeral services for Fred will be at 11:00 am on Saturday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. Interment with military honors will follow in Grand Prairie Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
