Passed away Wednesday morning, June 3, 2020 at her home. Frances was born August 17, 1931 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Raymond and Alida (Plantz) Fornoff. She was employed for 27 years with Western Michigan University in the food service department and later in the mail department. She did various crafts but was best known for her artistic ability in creating homemade greeting cards for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren on birthdays and Valentine's Day. She also created beautiful greeting cards for many other family and friends. Frances was a Girl Scout Leader in the 60's and 70's. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, enjoyed gardening, scrapbooking, bowling, yoga, swimming, camping and spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She was married to her loving husband Gene for 62 years, who preceded her in death on November 25, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, David Brooks; and sister, Marie Brooks. Frances is survived by her children, Pam Elliott, Gerry (Mike) Shannon, Dennis (Linda) Therkildsen, Kay (Chris) Nuyen, Lynn Therkildsen (Ken Elben); 16 grandchildren, Corey, Angie, Dennis, John, Kim, Kevin, Monica, Kristi, Steven, Jessica, Michelle, Laurel, Graham, Josh, Amanda, and Tyler, 37 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Franklin Fornoff, Betty (Lewis) Sweitzer, John (Joyce) Fornoff, Helen (Richard) Fransisco, Bill Zimmerman, sisters-in-law Patricia Therkildsen and Myrn Therkildsen and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a memorial gathering will be announced at a later date. Private interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
