Died Monday morning October 30, 2017. Elaine was born February 16, 1925 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Alfred and Alida (Sturman) Bennett. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident for many years and was employed with the Upjohn Company before retiring. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard W. Bliss on March 23, 1996; a daughter, Cynthia Kay Ambroso; an infant son, Richard Howard Bliss; a sister, Jeanne Shilts; and a brother, Fred Bennett. She is survived by a daughter, Judy (Billy Joe Robinson) Bliss-Robinson of Kalamazoo; 5 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 2 o'clock Wednesday, November 8th from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Kindred Hospice, 625 Kenmoor Ave., S.E. Suite 115, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.
