Died Saturday morning April 9, 2016 at her residence. Edith was born April 25, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois a daughter of Emil and Pauline (Klingbeil) Wolfgram. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 2010, coming from Des Plaines, IL. Edith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin R. Gabalec on October 27, 2012; a daughter, Joy Gabalec on May 7, 2013; 4 sisters; and 3 brothers. She is survived by 2 children, Lynn Gabalec of Vernon Hills, IL and Ann (Michael) Bensinger of Kalamazoo; 2 grandchildren, M. Brian Bensinger and Mark Bensinger; a cousin; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Thursday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Private interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Friendship Village Employee Appreciation Fund.
