Edith M. Browne went home to be with her Lord on December 6, 2016, at the age of 100. Edith was born May 3, 1916 in Winslow, IN, the daughter of Samuel and Mary (Hurt) Caldemayer. In 1934 she was married to Daniel Edwin McDonald, who preceded her in death in 1959; and in 1961 she was married to Rev. Charles E. Browne who preceded her in death in 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents; siblings Emma, Rudolph, Lewis; grandchildren Rhonda and Lonnie Pettit. Through the years her faith and family were the most important part of her life. Edith was a member of the Cross Community Church of the Nazarene and had assisted her husband as he pastored several churches he served throughout the country. Surviving are her children Daniel "Jr." McDonald, James McDonald, Karen Overmyer, Karla (Gene) Pettit and Kaye (Jeff) Kirk; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00PM on Sunday, December 11th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. The Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM Monday, December 12th at the Cross Community Church of the Nazarene (5625 Oakland Drive). Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Edith's memory may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
