Doris passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born on November 6, 1930 in Detroit, MI the daughter of William and Freda (Chappel) Stiles. Doris graduated from Fort Wayne Bible College and worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She was a faithful member of Kalamazoo Missionary Church. On August 2, 1953 she married Olen C. Schlatter who preceded her in death on February 2, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Ruth Schwerdtfeger. Doris is survived by three children, Jonathan E. Schlatter of Van Buren, IN, Samuel E. (Millie) Schlatter of Lawton, MI and Joy E. (Edward) Baiz, Jr. of Granger, IN; son-in-law, Jere Schwerdtfeger; daughter-in-law, Renee Schlatter, 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 4th, from 6 to 8 PM at Kalamazoo Missionary Church, 5045 E. Michigan Ave., where services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, January 5th, with Pastor Ken Smeader, officiating. Private interment will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton, MI.
