Hamilton, Doris Marie
of Portage, Michigan Passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in Lakeland, Florida. Age 82. Doris was born in Milford, IN on October 19, 1931, the daughter of the late Walter and Leathea Tusing Kasper. She graduated from Milford High School. She was a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church and enjoyed volunteering. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Henry Hamilton. Together, they owned and operated the Little Chick Shoe Shop in Kalamazoo and enjoyed spending many winters in Florida. Surviving besides her husband are her children, Thomas Chris Hamilton of Portage and Merry Hamilton of Portage; four grandchildren, Sarah Kevin, John Brittany, Katie Tony and Zack Nala; two great-grandchildren, Sloan and Mara; one sister, Clariece Stump of Lakeland, FL; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Herb Stump. Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1515 Helen Avenue, Portage, MI 49002, where the funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Janet Duggins will officiate. Entombment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes.
