Donna went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, December 18, 2016 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born on March 27, 1937 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Steven and Nellie (Fredricks) Roede. She was a member of Westwood Christian Reformed Church. On January 27, 1957, she was married to Stewart Terpstra, who preceded her in death on June 10, 1997. On January 6, 2001, she was married to Hollis Vlietstra, who survives. Also surviving are her four children: Nancy (Mark) McDade of Westport, CT, Jay Terpstra of Bridgeport, CT, Gary (Kaylynn) Terpstra of Lawton and Brian Terpstra of Cutlerville; grandchildren: Pamela (Brian) Price, C. Lee McDade, Teresa Terpstra, Justin Terpstra, Brandon (Haley) Terpstra, Elise (Brian) Dodson, Shelby (Josh) Lucky, Lee Terpstra, Micah Terpstra, Isaac Terpstra and Jacob Terpstra; three step-sons: Ric Vlietstra, Bob (Liz) Vlietstra and Bill (Marcia) Vlietstra; step-grandchildren: Mark (Erin) Vlietstra, Scott (Jennifer) Vlietstra, Holly (Jeff) Diebel, Andrew Vlietstra, Betsy (Scott) Nuismer, Jeff Vlietstra and Amanda (Dustin) Prescott; siblings: Jay Roede, Myrt (Harold) Nylaan, and Dale (Karen) Roede; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Also preceding her in death were her parents and grandson, Dirk Terpstra. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Wednesday evening, Dec. 21, at Westwood Christian Reformed Church, 620 Northampton Road. A funeral service to celebrate Donna's life will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, Dec. 22, at the church. Pastor Mike Koetje will officiate. A luncheon will follow the service at church. Interment will be at 3:30 PM on Thursday at Blain Cemetery, Cutlerville. Memorial contributions may be directed to Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, Sheperd's Center or Westwood Christian Reformed Church.
