Passed away Monday morning, January 25, 2021 at her home. Donna was born January 2, 1949 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Robert and Patricia (Everts) Beck. She was a lifelong resident of the Portage and Kalamazoo community. Prior to her retirement, she worked for many years at Kalamazoo Public Schools as a Special Education Paraprofessional and at Lutheran Social Services. Donna was a woman of deep faith and was an active member of The Bridge Church where she served in various ministries and enjoyed spending time with her life group and participating in Women's Bible Studies.
Donna treasured and loved her children and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was her time spent with them, and she particularly cherished attending her grandchildren's numerous sporting events. In her own youth, she was an accomplished baton twirler, having soloed while performing in the Kalamazoo Holiday Parade, another event she loved attending with her family over the years. She loved time spent with her friends, sister, and sister-in-law, meeting often for breakfast or lunch. Gathering with her extended family was a favorite pastime, in particular the annual Christmas Eve party where games, dancing, and laughter filled the air.
She enjoyed tracing her ancestry, traveling to historical sites, was an avid reader, and loved the Detroit Tigers - either watching them play live with her family, on television, or listening to them on the radio.
Donna is survived by her children, Ken (Alina) Hiser, Kimberly Kramer, Erin Harris; 7 grandchildren, Peyton, Tyler, Julian and Giselle Harris, Robbie, Bryce and Dominic Kramer; brother and sister, James (Mila) Beck and Barbara Kennedy; several cherished nieces and nephews and special friends. A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Monday February 1, 2021 at the Bridge Church, 7200 Angling Rd.
