Donald John Schnyders

Donald John Schnyders passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, November 8, 2021. He was born July 1, 1949, in Chicago, IL a son of Donald and Clara (Evenhouse) Schnyders.

Donald graduated from Portage Northern High School in 1967 and enlisted in the US Navy and served in Vietnam. He worked at Schnyders Greenhouses and then Republic Services, retiring in 2007. Donald enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also was a Past Commander of Comstock VFW Post 6252.

On June 18, 1971, Donald married the former Laura Long who preceded him in death on October 25, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his father. Donald is survived by his children, Carrie (Jim) Robinson and Brian (Lindia) Schnyders; grandchildren, Blaine Behrens, Devon Schnyders, Tayler Schnyders, Bailey Schnyders, and Brianna Schnyders; mother, Clara; siblings, Doug Schnyders, Sandy (Tim) DeLoof, Cindie (Denny) Dusseljee, Sheri (John) Bucy, and Brenda (Rob) Wilkins; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021, from 12-2PM when services will begin at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Service, 411 E Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49002.
