Meisling Sr., Donald H.
of Three Rivers, Michigan Passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2013. Age 90. He was born in Kalamazoo on October 6, 1923, the son of the late Herbert and Alice Hartman Meisling. He served with the United States Navy during World War II. He worked for Upjohn for 42 years, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He also enjoyed grape farming, hunting, fishing, TV and his many dogs that he had throughout his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Jerry Ann Dunn Meisling; four children, Donald Linda Meisling Jr. of Georgetown, KY, Alan Jeanne Meisling of Otsego, MI, Linda Dennis Patterson of Kalamazoo, MI and Donna David Goette of Mattawan, MI; nine grandchildren, Mike Theres Meisling, Rani Chris Ampey, Tammy Lou Houtman, Andy Marcy Meisling, Rusty Abbi Patterson, Ryan Holly Patterson, Josh Allice Patterson, LeeAnn Bryan Purifoy and Miranda Goette; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Max Lettow of Kalamazoo; one sister-in-law, Earlene Meisling of Kalamazoo; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by one brother, Russell Meisling. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue, where the funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Vic Downing will officiate. A private interment will take place later in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or a charity of the donor's choice.
