Died Thursday morning, August 29, 2019. Donald was born July 29, 1939, in Clairton, Pennsylvania, a son of George and Catherine (Moritz) Cochran. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1966 and was employed with General Motors for over 45 years before retiring. He enjoyed spending winters in Arizona, traveling, cooking, spending time with his family, and feeding the birds. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Barbara A. Cochran on June 6, 1996; and siblings, Janice Macioce and Nancy Filicity. On April 18, 1998, he was united in marriage to Julia "Julie" (Allen) Cochran who survives. Also surviving, 5 children, Donald "De" (Stacy) Cochran Jr. of Galesburg, Kevin (Kim) Allen of Lawton, Chris Sorrentino of Kalamazoo, Ric (Rosie) Sorrentino of Schoolcraft, and Candace (Tom) Williams of Orange, CA; several grandchildren; siblings, Shirley (Emil) Wargo, Carole (Carl) Paul, Dianne (Duane) Halt, David (Kathy) Cochran, and Sharyn (Harry) Wilson, of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Saturday, September 7th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 411 E Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49002. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Private burial will take place in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery at a later date.
