Dennis B. Smith

SMITH, Dennis B. Dennis passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Borgess Medical Center. He was born on September 4, 1939 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late Dorsey and Margaret Denniston Smith. Dennis was a veteran of the United States Navy serving for 4 years from 1958-1962. He graduated from Galesburg Augusta High School. Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Laura Smith, 9 children, Dawn Sutton, Angela Curt Case, Kim Alle Delfsma, Jim Smith, Denise Kevin Branch, Bradley Smith, Robert Saltzman, Melanie Mike Nadwornik and Lisa Jim Saltzman-Helms; 26 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, sister, Ila Ryskamp; brother, Charles Smith; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Dennis' life will be held at 3pm on Sunday, Feb. 15, at Galesburg United Methodist Church, 111 W. Battle Creek Street, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be directed to Disabled American Veterans or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
