Dennis R. Hutchins

HUTCHINS, Mr. Dennis R.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Died June 9, 2014. Dennis was born February 9, 1945 in Tucson, Arizona a son of Harold and Vera Tridgell Hutchins. During the Vietnam War, he served with the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. He was a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and was a Production Scheduler with Graphic Packaging Company for 40 years, retiring in 2003. Dennis had a passion for bluebirds, flying and was a part time flight instruction for 12 years at Kal-Aero. He was very proud of his family attending many school, sporting and 4-H events. He was avid and loved rising early five days a week and working out at the Borgess Health and Fitness Center. He and his wife Mary loved to spend time on the beaches of Mexico and South Haven. On May 7, 1976, he was united in marriage to Mary E. Bardenhagen Hutchins who survives. Also surviving, 2 daughters, Nikki Rick Gale of Vicksburg and Andrea Hutchins of Portage: 3 grandsons, Alex, Andrew, And Brayden: his father, step mother, aunt and extended family of in-laws, and cousins also survive him. His mother preceded him in death. A memorial service will be held at 1 o'clock Wednesday at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 9420 Portage Rd. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the United Nursing Service, Inc. Kzo or the charity of choice.
