ETTWEIN, Mr. Dennis D. "Denny"
Kalamazoo, MI Died Tuesday morning April 28, 2015. Denny was born March 30, 1938 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Al and Helen Dilno Ettwein. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Kalamazoo Public Schools for 38 years before retiring. Denny was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joan Rose Ettwein on January 7, 2013; and a grandson, Zachary David Pearce on December 7, 2009. He is survived by 3 children, Richard William Snyder of Dallas, TX, Rebecca Lehn MacKenzie of Plainwell, and Burke Lee Melissa Snyder of Portage; 5 grandchildren, Jessica, Jacquelyn, and Katelyn Pearce and Hannah and William Snyder; a great-granddaughter, Kennedy Rose Pearce; sisters-in-law, Margaret "Peg" Sutton and her children, twins Brook and Brad Sutton, and Helene Phil Boothroyd and their children, Sojn and Nathan Boothroyd; and special friends, Charlie Carol Krenek of Kalamazoo. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Saturday, May 16th at the First Congregational Church, 129 S. Park St. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army.
