Age 71
Three Rivers, Michigan Delila passed peacefully surrounded by her family as she entered Heaven on April 24th 2015. Delila's life began August 4th 1943. The daughter of Francis Allen and Delila Carver, Delila grew up on a farm in Fulton, Michigan with her two sisters Joyce Coburn and Ardith Dent. She attended school in Fulton and Vicksburg, Michigan. In Delila's earlier years she enjoyed working with The March of Dimes, and being a Girl Scout Leader in Vicksburg Michigan. Delila enjoyed helping people in need whenever she could. Delila enjoyed sewing, and many crafts. She was the best cook around and enjoyed hosting family dinners and gatherings. Delila was a hard worker with many skills who retired from Stryker. Her children were the world to her and she was the best mother to them. She married Fred Poddig and enjoyed a long loving marriage. Delila and Fred enjoyed boating and life on the lake. Delila enjoyed gardening and nature and took pride in everything she did. Her biggest joy was her family; She had three daughters Mary Rowe of Fulton, MI, Anna Martin of Fulton, MI, and Becky Miller of Vicksburg, MI. who she Loved greatly. Delila enjoyed her eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren with a loving grandmother's touch. Delila has many loving family members and friends! All who knew her, loved her. Delila was a strong, loving, graceful and brave woman. Many beloved family members preceded her in death including; Her Grandparents, Her parents Francis Allen and Delila Carver, and her uncle Homer Ream. Delila is survived by her husband Fred Carl Poddig of many years. Delila will be forever missed until that great day we are reunited in Father's Paradise. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 16th at The Langland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre St. Friends may meet the family one-hour prior to the service at the chapel. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center.
