Of Lawton David, age 41, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 02, 2014 with his family at his side. David was born on September 25, 1972, the son of Jill Packard VanLuke and David O. VanLuke. On July 11, 2002, he was united in marriage to Messina Jaco VanLuke of Charleston, SC, who survives. Also surviving are his son, David D. VanLuke; parents; sister, Holly Tim Veldhoff; nephew, Wesley Waldron; niece, Georgia Waldron and brother in spirit Nick Abbott. David had an insatiable zest for life and fought a courageous battle against diabetes, with which he was diagnosed at an early age. David was cherished by all who knew him and in his enlightened journey touched many lives. In accordance with David's wishes to be one with nature, a private burial has taken place in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens, Grandville, MI. Friends may visit with David's family from 5-8 PM on Monday January 6, 2014 at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, Oshtemo, where family and friends will share memories and stories beginning at 7:00 PM. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
