Died Wednesday morning October 23, 2019 at his residence. David was born December 1, 1941 in Port Huron, Michigan a son of Eugene and Margaret (Kennedy) Schieman. He had been a Kalamazoo area most of his life and was employed with the Bechtel Corporation for over 30 years, retiring in 1999. He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Dennis Schieman; and a granddaughter, Michelle Redden. On September 7, 1963, he was united in marriage to Joan M. (Schulte) Schieman who survives. Also surviving, 4 children, Debbie (Brian) Naylor of Dandridge, TN, Kim (Chris) Westphal of Shields, MI, Kirk (Karen) Schieman of Portage, and Stacy (Dirk) Stapert of Gobles; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Wyllie of Port Huron, MI; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held 11-1pm Saturday, November 2nd at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S. 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.
