David P.I. Buell

Died Tuesday morning December 1, 2015 at his residence. David was born July 17, 1948 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Burton and Lula (Giddings) Buell. During the Vietnam War, he served with the U.S. Army. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and was employed with the Kalamazoo Regional Psychiatric Hospital for 30 years, before retiring. David was also an avid bowler. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Bobann Perry on May 11, 1985; and a brother, Jacks Sanders. David is survived by 4 children, Bobbi Buell of Kalamazoo, Melissa (Daniel) Ross of Lawton, and David Buell II and George (Danielle) Buell all of Kalamazoo; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 siblings, Joyce (Sam) Pyritz of Arizona, Dorothy Sleeman of Kalamazoo, Georgia (Clarence) Ray of Kalamazoo, and Kathy (Mike) Louthan and Vicki (Phil) Pettitt all of Lawton; his former spouse, Dawn Buell of Kalamazoo; an aunt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial gathering will be held from 2-5pm Monday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Private burial will take place at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
