Died Friday morning May 6, 2016. Charles was born December 12, 1934 in Comstock Park, Michigan a son of Edwin and Liane (Wert) Krueger. Years ago, he served Honorably with the U.S. Army. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and was employed in the bakery business for 28 years before retiring. Charles was also a member of St. Monica Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, camping, snowmobiling, golfing; and was the Michigan Golden Gloves Boxing Welterweight Division Champion in 1951 and 1953. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Marjorie Munn. On November 24, 1956, he was united in marriage to Sandra A. (Black) Krueger who survives. Also surviving, 2 sons, Charles E. Krueger, Jr. of Delton and Scott (Caroline) Krueger of Prior Lake, MN; 2 grandchildren, Allison and Kyle; a brother, Ronald Krueger of Grand Rapids; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 Tuesday at St. Monica Catholic Church, 534 W. Kilgore. Visitation will be 5-8pm Monday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Interment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan
