Formerly of Battle Creek, MI Cathy passed away early Tuesday morning, May 5, 2009 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, and was a former resident of Park Village Pines. She was born November 3, 1930 in Battle Creek, one of two children to the late Charles "Scotty" and Anne Stewart Fettes. Cathy began working for the Boy Scouts of America Southwest Michigan Council in Battle Creek in 1956, until her retirement in 2003. Surviving are her 2 sons, Denny Barb Heinonen of Kalamazoo and Larry Laura Heinonen of Burlington; 3 grandchildren, Luke, James, and Lily Heinonen; brother, Stewart Fettes of Lansing; sister-in-law, Fran Fettes of Battle Creek; 3 nieces, Barb Dave Blackmore of Grand Rapids, Becky Moon of Grand Rapids, and Jayne Mike Wilson of Battle Creek; nephew, Chuck Tammy Fettes of Colorado Springs, CO; and several grand-nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Cathy will be at 11:00 AM on Friday at Kalamazoo Free Methodist Church, 931 W. Maple Street, with Pastor Bruce Rhodes officiating. Interment will be in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, Battle Creek. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 PM on Thursday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street.
