Carol Marie Richards

Carol passed away on Wednesday afternoon, November 15, 2017 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. She was born on October 1, 1939 in Wabash, IN, the daughter of Carl and Helen (Armstrong) Aukschun. On August 28, 1962, Carol was united in marriage to Wayne L. Richards, who preceded her in death on July 9, 1993. She was employed by Mead Corp. for over 15 years until her retirement. Carol was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Surviving are her two sons: Larry Richards of Benton Harbor and Thomas (Tammy Whitlock) Richards of Portage; four grandchildren: Dylan Richards, Daniel Richards, Jonathan Whitlock and Genna Whitlock; brother: Carl (Linda) Aukschun of Salt Lake City, UT; sister: Cathy (Daryl) Ramsey of Wabash, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3-5 PM on Sunday, Nov. 19, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1112 N. Drake Road. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, Nov. 20, where friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church. Bishop Kirk D. Lillrose will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
