BARBER, Carol Jean
of Kalamazoo Passed away March 27, 2011 at the Life Care Center of Plainwell. She was born May 20, 1934 in Kalamazoo, to the late Charles and Doris Benson Cooper. Carol was united in marriage to Wilson "Bill" Barber, on October 13, 1979, who preceded her in death in November of 2006. Carol was a long-time member of the Kalamazoo Lighthouse Community Church. She was a bookkeeper for 1st Federal Savings and Loan for 36 years until she retired. She enjoyed animals and traveling. Surviving Carol are her sister, Mary Lou Moberg of Kalamazoo; step-children, Steve Kathy Barber of Kalamazoo, Sharon Rick Fedoruk of Barrien Springs, Lee Diane Bylsma of Walker and Beverly Mercer of Caledonia; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 nephew and 2 nieces. Family will greet friends on Friday, April 8th from 6-8:00 o'clock at the Kalamazoo Lighthouse Community Church, 4321 S. 11th St, Oshtemo 49009, where a memorial service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 o'clock. A private interment will be at Genesee Prairie Cemetery in Oshtemo. Arrangements are by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army or to the church building fund.
