SCOTT, Carl LaRoy, "Scotty"
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Carl was born April 3, 1929 in Kalamazoo, a son of Clarence and Letha Burnett Scott and was a lifelong resident of the area. In his early years, Carl worked in the celery flats in Comstock and later worked for Fuller Transmission, retiring in 1984. He loved fishing and hunting with his brother, Jack, as well as gardening, being an avid bowler and watching football. Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Comstock VFW, Post 6252, the American Legion and the Eagles Lodge of Schoolcraft. Carl is survived by his wife, Nancy; his children, Kerrie, Shelia, Mark, Erin and Lisa; 15 grandchildren, including 2 granddaughters on active duty, one with the US Navy and the other with the US Air Force; step- daughters, Robyn and Teresa; 4 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 10:30 AM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway, with Rev, John Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Comstock VFW, 5990 E. Michigan Ave.
