Calvin H. Hounshell

HOUNSHELL, Calvin H.
of Kalamazoo Passed away March 24, 2011. He was born May 21, 1951 in Kalamazoo to the late Jesse and Helen Miller Hounshell. Calvin was united in marriage to Donna Krietz on October 23, 1971, who survives. Calvin worked for Checker Motors for 29 years as a welder and tool & die maker, until he retired. Calvin enjoyed camping with his family, riding his motorcycle and hunting and fishing. Since his grandsons talked him into buying a computer, his latest hobby was eBay. Also surviving Calvin are his children, Tracie Jason Moored of Martin, MI and Daniel Hounshell of Portage; 2 grandchildren, Jonathan and Benjamin; sisters, Bertha Terry Dykes and Edith Joe Grabowski; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Also preceding Calvin in death was his step-father, Neil Marr; and brother, Wesley Hounshell. A memorial service will be held Saturday, 11:00 o'clock at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., where family will greet friends from 10-11:00 o'clock. Pastor James Collison will officiate services. Burial will take place at Genessee Prairie Cemetery at 1:00 o'clock. Memorials in Calvin's name may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center.
