Beatrice Elizabeth (Kunza) Huss

June 8, 1930 — May 13, 2020

Beatrice Elizabeth Huss, 89, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2020. She was born June 8, 1930 in Perham, Minnesota to the late Leon Paul and Barbara Helen (Bucholz) Kunza.

Bea attended Morehead Teacher's College in Minnesota and earned her Bachelor's Degree from there. She worked as a teaching assistant at both Dowagiac Schools and Portage Public Schools. Bea was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, as well as the Portage-Schoolcraft Eagles where she was a chaplain for years. She enjoyed gardening and visiting with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldred John "E.J." Huss on September 27, 1992; her parents; sister, Dolores Breher; and brother, Paul Kunza.

She is survived by her daughters Linda Huss of Kalamazoo and Patti Frontczak of Dowagiac; son, Robert Huss of Fruitport; grandchildren, Anna Ketchum (Buzz Martensen), Sandi Frontczak (Carlos Matias), Kathi (Tom Redner) Frontczak, Joseph (Syndey) Huss, and Michael Huss; five great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A private prayer service will be held for her family. Bea will be laid to rest with her husband in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Woodside at Friendship Village for the great care of their mother.
