Barbara Jean DeYoung, age 90, of Jacksonville, Florida and a former resident of Kalamazoo, passed into Glory on May 6, 2020. She was born in Richland, Michigan to Cornelius and Effie DeHollander on October 22,1929.

Barbara was married to Wilfred DeYoung on February 27, 1948 and they remained together for 56 years until his death in 2004. She is survived by her three children Maria Tate (James), Marcia Price and Marclyn Paige. She was also blessed with six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Barbara is survived by one brother, Donald DeHollander (Mary). Her siblings included Richard DeHollander (Eva), Pauline Haas (Martin) and Constance Noggle (Lawrence) who preceded her in death. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Barbara and Wilfred were longtime members of Bethel Reformed Church in Kalamazoo before retiring to Lake Worth, Florida. She was a talented cook and baker and derived great joy from providing meals for her family and friends. She had a deep, abiding love for her savior Jesus and she was a constant prayer warrior. She had a quiet, sweet spirit and was a shining example of her Christian faith. Barbara will be missed by her family and friends but she leaves behind a lifetime of treasured memories for those who knew and loved her.

Private family graveside services will be held in Richland Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials in Barbara's memory may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
