May 20, 1915 — October 29, 2016

KIMBLE, Ann D. (Bryant)
Of Barrington, IL
Formerly of Kalamazoo

Ann Bryant Kimble of Barrington, Illinois passed away peacefully on October 29, 2016 . Ann was 101 years of age and although her loss brought tears to many, her life will always be remembered as a commemoration of love. Born, the second of eight children, on May 20th, 1915, the family lived in Painsdale, Michigan until 1920 when they moved to Mattawan, Michigan. The family purchased a small grape farm benefiting from beautiful land and a pond. In addition to a grape farm, the family raised cows, chickens complimented by an array of fruit trees and vegetables grown on the premises. The farm was a great place for children to grow. They had plenty of room to roam, to play, enjoy each other's company, to learn to love, to pray together and this all was mixed together with a lot of good hard work (her stories about bailing hay, milking cows and picking grapes continued throughout her life). Ann, together with her brothers and sisters: Tony, Nick, Willie and Madeleine, Mary and Rose (Ann's fourth brother died on his second birthday) never forgot about where they came from and were bonded until life's limits took hold.

Ann was married to Clarence Bryant in 1937 and raised four children; Thurman Bryant (married to Lynn), Dick Bryant and his wife Johanna (both deceased), Nancy and her husband Steve Holmes and Clare Bryant. In July of 1959 Ann's first husband passed away. She was left to raise four children which, with the help of God, she did it in an amazing way.

In 1968 Ann married Frank Kimble who had a daughter Paula Leinaar married to Fred. Ann and Frank enjoyed a very pleasant life until Frank's death in 1984. In 2005 Ann moved in with Nancy and Steve Holmes until health forced her to spend the remainder of her life at Alden Estates of Barrington. IL. Although confined to a wheel chair at Alden, whenever asked how she was feeling Ann would respond by saying "I'm just fine, I don't have a pain in my body".

Ann is survived by three children, 13 grand-children, 31 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren all of which were smothered with love from Ann Bryant Kimble. A service to celebrate Ann's life will be held at 1:00pm Monday, November 7 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Friends may meet the family from 12:00-1:00 prior to the service Monday. Private interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery next to her first husband Clarence. In lieu of flowers, a remembrance of Ann by giving a donation to National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization would be appreciated.
