Major Alvin Earl Rollier USAF (RET) "Al" died suddenly in Battle Creek, Michigan on March 1, 2019 at the age of 87.
Alvin is survived by his wife Susan Ruth Rollier, Joan Duckmantion (sister), Alvin E. Rollier (Jeanne) John Anthony Rollier (Wendy) Richardson Clyde Rollier (sons) Michelle S. Johnson, Sarah F. Eldred (Mark), Grandchildren, Jessie, Jacob, Ben (wife Nikki), Greer, Logan, Grant, Danica Rollier, Sera Radovich, Forrest, Ferris and Frances Eldred and 5 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, John Alvin Rollier and mother, Cecilia Seyforth Rollier and first wife, Virginia Ann Good Rollier.

Alvin was born on June 4, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois. After his family moved from the Midwest, they settled in Washington and Oregon where he graduated in 1949. Al attended Oregon State where he earned a BA in Archeology/Anthropology. He married Virginia Ann Good in 1956. Alvin joined the United States Air Force where he served in Vietnam and Tripoli, Libya as a Major during the Vietnam War, making and retiring from a lifetime military career. After his combat duty he settled in Phoenix, Arizona and worked as a Radar and Weapons Controller. Al especially loved learning and sharing aviation and military history, buying and reading books and movies and desserts. Al met the love of his late life, Susan R. Rollier in 2009 and the two enjoyed travel, conversation and holding hands and little fingers. A small memorial is scheduled for March 6, 2019 at Langeland Family Funeral Home, S. Burdick, Kalamazoo. Donations to the Kalamazoo Public Library, Washington Square Branch in lieu of flowers.
