MEADOWS, Mr. Alvin J.
Lawton, Michigan Died Tuesday morning April 21, 2009. Alvin was born September 9, 1935 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of William and Myra Gilmar Meadows. He served Honorably with the U.S. Marines from 1954-56. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with Miller-Davis Construction Company for 25 years. He was also a member of the Carpenters Union and enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, bowling, and playing darts. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents; and 3 brothers, Carl, Roy, and Lloyd Meadows. On September 12, 1994, he was united in marriage to Tanya L. Anson Meadows who survives. Also surviving, a son, Robert Meadows of Kalamazoo; a daughter, Brenda Meadows; and 6 step children, Douglas Pam Tyler of Paw Paw, twins, Tim Dana Tyler of Vicksburg and Terry Glenn Furst of Kalamazoo, Brian Annette Kelley of Vicksburg, and Kevin Donna Skees and Kimberly Skees all of Kalamazoo; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Laurn Arlene Meadows of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1 o'clock Friday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 5-8pm Thursday.
