Bussema, Alan C.
Richland, MI Passed into eternity on March 18th, 2015 at Faith Hospice in Byron Center. Alan was born May 6, 1952 in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of Carl and Eleanor Bussema. Alan was a longtime resident of Richland, Michigan and served as the Richland Township Supervisor for seven years. Alan worked as a Pfizer employee for 31 years prior to being Supervisor. Alan served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era, stationed in Germany as Military Police. Alan was a friend to many, a softball coach at Gull Lake High School, a dedicated community member, and an active congregant at gracespring Bible Church. Alan served on many community organization boards, both as a private citizen and in his role as Supervisor. Alan enjoyed playing golf and softball, watching football and spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who especially enjoyed his granddaughters, Libby and Lane, and his dog, Casie. Alan is survived by his wife Janeen, his children and spouses, Lisa and Jeremy Kuiper and Kevin and Tara Bussema, his two granddaughters, his father Carl Bussema, his sisters MaryAnn Wolthuis and Karen Claus, and their husbands and children. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Bussema. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 22nd from 5pm until 7pm at gracespring Bible Church. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 23rd at 10am at gracespring followed by a procession to Fort Custer for the burial service.
