Went home to be with the Lord Friday evening December 21, 2018. Aaron was born August 8, 1944 in El Paso, TX a son of Aaron and Dorothea (Mick) Sorrels Jr. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 2015 and was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church. Aaron faithfully served our Lord as a Pastor for over 40 years. May his memory continue to encourage and inspire. Thanks be to God. He was preceded in death by his parents. On June 4, 1971, he was united in marriage to Bernice R. (Linder) Sorrels who survives. Also surviving, 4 children, Aaron (Renee) Sorrels IV of Grand Rapids, MI, Jessica (Dan Wimmer) Ackerson of Dansville, MI, Rebecca (Ron) Suarez of Portage, and Matthew (Adriane) Sorrels of Madison, WI; 7 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Sharon (Ken) Lambert and Linda (Tom) Flenner all of Castle Rock, CO; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Wednesday at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 9420 Portage Road. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Lord of Life Lutheran Church or to your local food bank.
