Of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Tuesday July 8, 2008 in Nashville, TN. Zelma was born February 4, 1914 in Kalamazoo, MI. She was a longtime employee of the American National Bank and gave many hours of volunteer service to the Bronson Hospital Nurses Guild. Zelma was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo for 70 years; and the Ladies Library Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, former State Representative Wayne B. Sackett. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother and sister, Harry S. Roberts, Arlene Roberts; and a son-in-law, Kenneth Solomon. Surviving are 3 daughters, Nancy David Kaiser of Grand Rapids, Diane Phillip Bumpus of Kalamazoo, Ruthann Travis White of Nashville, TN; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, July 19 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick with Pastor Scott Burdick officiating. Friends may visit with the family Saturday from 1:00-2:00. Private family interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
