Formerly of Eagle Lake, Texas Twp. Zelma M. Kuiper, age 103, passed away Friday morning, January 18, 2013, at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born January 5, 1910, in Kalamazoo, MI, a daughter of the late John and Tillie Vos Meninga and had been a life long area resident. Zelma was a member of Calvary Reformed Church. On December 3, 1930, Zelma was united in marriage with Henry Kuiper, who preceded her in death on March 23, 1966. She was also preceded in death by: a son-in-law, Robert Wren; a grandson, Rick Kuiper; and eight siblings. Zelma is survived by: her daughter, Marilyn Wren of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren, Vicki Farhat-Wren of Canton, MI, Salli Tom Pritchard of Lawton, MI and Robin Rhodes of Grand Rapids, MI; eight great-grandchildren, Monica Brian, Jason Janelle, Becky, SSgt Brandon Nikki, Justine, Kyle, Chelsea and Tyler; five great-great-grandchildren, Ariannah, Robbie, Aidyn, Claire and Adalynn; a sister, Harriet Brown; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street on Monday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm when services will be held with Pastor Greg Van Heukelum, officiating. Interment in Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South will follow services. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to Kairos Dwelling.
