PAPE, Winifred E.
of Portage, Michigan Went to Heaven on Tuesday, October 2, 2012. She was born on December 28, 1927 to the late Albert and Gladys Woollaston Tatler. She was also preceded by a brother, William J. Tatler, a brother in England and a sister in Pennsylvania. She was a born again Christian and a member of the Berean Baptist Church, where she was also a member of the Ladies Group. She was a 40 year member of the International Association of Administration Professionals. In Ohio, she worked for Foundry Equipment & Young Bros., Co. and Gould Pumps. Upon moving to Michigan, she worked as secretary to the Portage Police Department, being the first secretary for the department. She is survived by her husband, Harold H.; two daughters, Linda E. Matveia, TX and Eleanore M. Perry; three grandchildren, Phyllis J. Perry, Matthew L. Perry and Christie L. Garrett; 15 great grandchildren, Breanna R., Carissa N., Sophia E. and Lynnea M. Gruszczyk, Cameron L. Perry, Noah M., Robbie J. and Stella R. Garrett, Destiny A., Anthony L., Madelynne, Samantha M. and Matthew L., Jr. Perry, and Celvin Garrett. Also a very special niece, Roberta Tatler-Rainwater of GA, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12:00 PM in the Berean Baptist Church, 7813 S. 12th St. with Pastors Bill Abernathy and Steve Nichols, officiating. Interment will take place in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday beginning at 10:00 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission or Youth For Christ. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave.
